This policy explains how the Audio Press app accesses, uses, and protects data.
Developer and contact
Developer: Ovidiu Vaida
Privacy contact: ovidiu_vaida@yahoo.com
What the app does
Audio Press is an RSS/Atom aggregator. The user configures news sources, and the app downloads feeds and public article pages for display, search, filtering, and voice reading through Text-to-Speech.
The app does not create its own editorial content and does not change the meaning of articles. Content, rights, and editorial responsibility belong to the source publications.
Data accessed or stored locally
The app stores the following data locally on the device:
- RSS/Atom sources configured by the user;
- downloaded articles for fast cached display;
- read/unread state;
- articles marked as favorites;
- language, TTS voice, appearance, and reading-mode preferences;
- local full-access state after purchase confirmation through Google Play.
This data is used only for app functionality. The developer does not operate a developer-owned server to collect this data.
Voice commands
The app does not request microphone permission. When the user manually starts voice commands, the app opens the speech recognition service available on the device and receives back the recognized command text.
The app does not use the microphone in the background, does not store audio recordings, and does not use audio for ads or tracking.
Network and external content
The app uses the internet connection to download RSS/Atom feeds and public article pages configured by the user.
When these sites are accessed, the source providers may receive normal technical information for a web connection, such as IP address, device type, or user-agent. These sites are operated by third parties and may have their own privacy policies.
In-app payments
The app may offer an optional one-time Google Play purchase to unlock full access. Payments, payment methods, and financial data are processed by Google Play.
The app receives from Google Play only the information needed to confirm the purchase and stores the unlock state locally.
Collection, sharing, and ads
The app does not create accounts, does not include ads, does not include tracking, and does not sell data.
The developer does not collect or share personal data through a developer-owned server.
Security, retention, and deletion
App data is stored locally on the device and is protected by the normal security mechanisms of the Android operating system.
The user can delete sources from the app settings or delete all app data from Android settings. Uninstalling the app deletes the local data managed by the app.
Children
The app is not designed specifically for children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app or legal requirements. The online version will show the date of the latest update.
